Belsnickel Parade - The Halifax Area Historical Society (HAHS) organizes the Belsnickel Parade every year. Friends of Fort Halifax, Inc. participated again this year with many other local organizations. Among the hit attractions in this parade is our very own Belsnickel (son of one of our members). The Belsnickel made sure all the local children along the Parade route received candy! The crowd enjoyed the Parade and this old German folklore character! (December 2018)

On Saturday, July 14, 2018 the Friends of Fort Halifax Park hosted the 1st Annual Canoe and Kayak Day on the Susquehanna River. Our Vice President, Bob Swope, organized this enjoyable event. About two dozen people registered their canoes and kayaks for what turned out to be a perfect summer day to float down the Susquehanna! MYO Park in Millersburg was the cast off location with the float ending at Fort Halifax Park. FoFHP members prepared a picnic of hot dogs, drinks, snacks, and S’mores, for everyone after the float. It was a super nice day with everyone wanting us to do it again next year!

The Friends of Fort Halifax Park, Inc., recently participated in the Halifax Communities That Care 17th Annual Family Fun Day Event held at Halifax High School. Many people visited our table. A baby porcupine visited our FoFHP member Tiffany! Maybe it wants to play and visit Fort Halifax Park too!

The Friends of Fort Halifax, Inc. hosted a BINGO event on March 11, 2018 - This fun, relaxing, Sunday afternoon BINGO was held at the Halifax VFW. Players won from an amazing array of baskets donated by the community, friends, and members. Many delicious desserts and foods were available. The VFW staff provided invaluable help! Thank you to everyone who donated baskets, food, time, and talents to make this event a success!

Friends of Fort Halifax Park, Inc. 13th Annual Banquet 2018 – Our BEST Banquet yet! A huge thank you to all our guests and members, everyone who generously donated their time and talents for the raffle, and worked so hard cooking, baking, decorating, setting-up, taking-down, and cleaning-up! A truly enjoyable evening of friendship and fellowship that culminated with a wonderful portrayal of Simon Girty Jr. by our Guest Speaker, Frank Wilmarth! We are also grateful to the PA Museum Commission for assembling a display of Fort Halifax Relics found at the Park for all to enjoy!
